A very interesting tree to visit with a very comprehensive historical information board.

Great tree but a shadow of its former self. Estimated to be around 1200 years old. Thank you Sherwood Forest Trust for the very interesting information board.The tree appears healthier now than when the photos on the board were taken in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

Just a tree with an awful lot of history. One of the oldest oaks in the UK. Nothing else to see there though. King John's castle (ruins of) are a few miles down the road

Beautiful spot, shame about the litter mountain and the loitering weekend junkies....

It's an old tree. There is no bench, just a tiny car park for two or three cars and an information board.Was nice to sit on the bank of the ditch and have a lunch break before carrying on.
